I retired from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) in 2022 after 29 years of diverse experience in the UK Fire and Rescue Service (FRS). My career included roles such as an operational response officer, hazardous materials tactical advisor, senior manager, and latterly as a seconded Inspection Officer to HM Fire Service Inspectorate (Scotland), focusing on fire safety, health and safety (H&S), and operational efficiency of the SFRS.
During my time in the FRS, I gained extensive knowledge and experience of Fire Safety and H&S. I was a qualified FRS Fire Safety Enforcement Officer, working closely with other stakeholders such as Building Control and architects to ensure life safety within the built environment also carrying out enforcement action where required.
As part of this role. I was the Edinburgh Festival Fire Safety Coordinator for the FRS, working closely with Local Authority partners and event organisers, carrying out fire risk assessments and implementing bespoke fire safety measures for temporary performance venues, ensuring public safety.

Noreen is a highly committed professional who is passionate about promoting an educational experience which engages, motivates and inspires all learners to achieve their full potential. She strongly believes in putting the learner first and has a proven track record in designing, developing and delivering high quality, innovative learning, where quality is a key priority.
She has worked within the education sector, both private and public, for over 20 years and throughout this time has managed complex educational needs and environments in multiple disciplines, including more recently within the Fire Prevention Training sector specialising in healthcare.
She also brings her wealth of Quality experience, both as an internal and external quality assurer, working with awarding organisations to ensure quality underlines all HMFSC Programmes.
Noreen liaises closely with specialist colleagues to ensure innovative technological solutions are used within all programme design, delivery and assessment.
