Award in Management of Medical Gas Supply: Designated Clinical Officer (EduQual Level 7)

Award in Medical Gas Pipeline Systems: Designated Clinical Officer (EduQual Level 7)

This course is designed for all personnel involved in the efficient management of medical gases within complex healthcare facilities in the UK, ensuring compliance with regulations, patient safety, and quality standards. This qualification will ensure that a Designated Clinical Officer (DCO) would have the appropriate skills and knowledge regarding the management of medical gas supplies.

The qualification will cover both theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to the handling, storage, administration, and safety protocols for medical gases. It is proposed that this course would be delivered over one day, with e-learning modules also forming part of the course. This is a credit rated qualification, benchmarked to the National Occupational Standards for Skills for Health (NOS).

We have various delivery models available depending on individual clients needs and use technology to enable a blended learning approach using e-learning, face to face and/or online delivery. Learning and assessment will be via our Moodle Learning Management Platform (LMS), for both knowledge and practical assessments. Throughout delegates will have access to our experienced and qualified tutors, who will provide advice and guidance as required.

EduQual Diploma in Medical Gases Pipeline Systems: Authorising Engineer (SCQF Level 11)

This Post Graduate Qualification in Medical Gases Pipeline Systems: Authorising Engineer (PGDip MGPS AE) is designed for those wishing to qualify as Authorising Engineer (AE) for medical gases pipeline systems. A person acting in the role of AE has a wide scope of practice as set out in HTM/SHTM 02-01. Roles and responsibilities of the AE include the provision of independent technical advice and guidance to the designated person, MGPS design and validation, determining suitability and recommending the appointment of Authorised Persons (AP). Responsibilities include records and information management, through to planning and delivering written and oral presentations, training needs analysis personal and professional development.

The programme has been produced to conform to the requirements of the RQF, the SCQF, the National Occupational Standards for Skills for Health (NOS).

This qualification is designed for personnel who wish to follow the Fire Assessor role reporting to the Senior Fire Advisor, the Fire Engineer and other management personnel.  Delegates are likely to be practicing risk assessors who wish to specialise in Fire Risk Assessment in healthcare facilities.  This qualification has been designed to meet the requirements of the UK Government HTM/SHTM Guidance.

This qualification is a 5 day training course which covers both theoretical knowledge and practical skills related needed to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively assess fire risks and implement preventive measures to minimize the likelihood of fires occurring.

This qualification meets the requirements of HTM/SHTM 05-03 Guidance and involves deepening understanding of teaching principles, theories, and domains, while fostering the application of effective teaching and learning strategies. 

Delegates will have proven experience in fire safety management in a healthcare environment and will have an in depth knowledge of fire safety regulations, codes of practice that are relevant to a complex healthcare facility. They ideally should also hold a fire assessment qualification which encompasses complex/high risk premises.  

Award in Fire Safety: Fire Prevention Maintenance (EduQual Level 3)

Award in Fire Safety: Fire Prevention Maintenance (EduQual Level 3)

The primary objective of this qualification is to ensure that the Fire Maintenance Competent Person (CP) possesses an in-depth understanding of the legislative framework underpinning fire safety, as well as the procedures and protocols associated with Permits to Work.

This 3 day course aims to instil a thorough awareness of the scope within which the Fire Maintenance CP may be entrusted to carry out their duties. It is designed to fosters a comprehensive knowledge base regarding their roles and obligations in overseeing the testing and maintenance of fire prevention equipment within complex healthcare facilities. This includes adherence to both local regulations and legal reporting requirements.

Delegates must be on the GAS SAFE register and hold a Electrotechnician Competent Person Qualification at Level 3 (minimum).

This one day Fire Marshal/Warden course plays a critical role in maintaining a safe environment within healthcare establishments, ensuring the protection and safe evacuation of occupants in the event of a fire.  This course complies with the UK Government HTM/SHTM Guidance and focuses on the knowledge and understanding required for the comprehensive role and responsibility of the Fire Marshal/Warden. No formal qualifications are required for this qualification.
